Peet, the Basslink is not bad. It's not ground shaking by any means but it gets the job done. If you like a subwoofer that's easy to install and fills in the void the Bose left behind than this is a good unit. If you like to 'feel' the bass rocking your car up and down then this is not what you are looking for.

The Basslink is installed by a audio shop and they spliced into the rear shelf speakers. There is a control **** on the console to adjust bass level. The unit tucks into that space on the left side of the trunk perfectly, no need for velcro, screws or straps. I have some slack on the wiring so when my friends want MORE bass, I put the Basslink unit in the backseat. For $270 installed it's a very good deal IMO.

Thanks for the note. I think this sounds like a cheap and easy update for the time being. Do you know where they got the power for that bass link? That's a big part of what I'd like to avoid right now... having to pull a proper 0 line from the front for the amp rack (that doesn't yet exist).

Cheers

Damn, that sucks. This is why I intend to keep my spare. There's still a good amount of room with a spare but you need to take out the plastic covers that hides the factory amp and holds the tools in the trunk. On the bright side, at least you were able to get a tow truck.

Is that an amp rack or did you just mount the amps to the seat. If it is a rack, more pics please. What does the other side look like?

JETLEAF...can you pull your backseat forward? It looks like the amps prevent you from opening it.

No. Amps are not mounted to the seat, it's just a board covered with carpet that is braced / clamped against the opening into the back seat area. It is simple but it works and I didn't drill any holes in the car. I can remove a few screws and take it out easily if I have to.
