Eclipse Avn 5495 vs pioneer AVIC-N2
#21
i have the avn5495 installed in my car right now. i like it okay. this is the third unit i have had in my car since i bought it. the first one i had was a kenwood ddx-7015. the second deck was a panasonic vq9300 in dash dvd i liked that one but didn't like the way the vollume button was and it blocked the a/c controls. so now i just bought the avn5495. i like it. now i can use my a/c with ease. the only thing i dislike is the navigation does not have all locations in the database. and does not have a tv tuner option. no ipod inteface either. but i am going to send my unit back to eclipse for update on database. other than that i like the features of the avn5495.

Definitely. The 5495 is also more convenient since you can jump in the car and not have to hook up an ipod when you want all your music with you. Also, you'd have to use some storage space to hold the ipod that you'd have free with the 5495. It would be pretty cool to just jump in and have all or your music right there. Overall though it is probably more expensive to be able to do that. A D1 is about 1200 while a 5495 is about 2200. You'd still be ahead with the 100 dollar ipod connector and the price of an ipod. Pros and cons to each I guess.

I haven't bought or burned an audio CD in over 3 years.
