Aftermarket alarm = warranty void

Aftermarket alarm = warranty void

Will installing an aftermarket alarm/ remote starter void any part of the warranty? might sound like a dumb question but... which part of the warranty ?

i have remote start on my car, and it did not void my warranty. the installed said the same - the key part is that the installed must NOT cut into the wiring harness. installing can be achieved without damaging the wiring harness - just by connecting to wires with the quick wire connects (the kind that snap on). make sure your installer understands the difference.

They are not supposed to, unless it can be shown that the alarm caused the problem, but it really depends on the dealership you take it to for service. There is def the chance they could refuse you warranty service for something electrical, bcm or ecu related.

You should ask your dealership what their policy is.

If they don't know the difference, I think I'd take it some other place.

It won't unless, that dealership or someone from manufacturer who is resposible for any warranty issues explain in writing that your alarm specifically caused that problem. Even after that you can argue about it. Because that's only manufacturer's response.
