How to watch video on AVIC-D1 while driving

I have been trying to figure out how to watch video (via separate DVD player) on the AVIC-D1 while the car is in motion and I think I've found it. I found this on the Ford F150 forums of all places.

>>I have just had one put in my 05 Expedition and the installer has it rigged so that I can watch movies while i'm driving. If you select AV on the HU a screen will pop up that says stop the vihicle, press the emergency brake, release the emergency brake and then press the emergency brake then hit OK on the screen. After you hit OK you can release the parking brake and have the movie on the screen. You will still need an seperate DVD player because the D1 will not play movies.

suppose you're not gonna use the Pioneer for navigation at all (like me, i have factory navi).... can you just leave the speed sensor wire disconnected totally?

not sure if it'll apply with the pioneer, but with my kenwood unit I grounded my parking brake line and can play dvd and mess with the nav while driving.. I can see why they don't want you to mess with the nav since inputting in info is a bit tedious and slow.. or another thing that I've read people doing is adding a switch to the line that runs to the parking brake

AVIC-D1 does not use the speed sensor wire anymore... it uses GPS to detect the driving speed. My installer spent some time trying to get AVIC to play dvds while driving... no luck so far. The pioneer units that still can be bypassed are 6600, 7500, and the new AVH-5700...I went with 5700, its cheap and i can use my factory navi.
