Tweeter removal (05 sedan Bose)

I swear that about 6 months ago I saw someone post about removing the stock tweeters through the grille instead of taking apart the door. Can anyone confirm this and/or help me track down the post?

I just reviewed the 2005 Service Manual, both the AV and the EI sections and it does not specifically say if you have to take the whole door panel off or just that tweeter grille to get at the tweeter. Sorry.

I don't think it's possible to do it without removing the door panels since the tweeter grill extends down into the door panel area a few inches. It's actually pretty easy to remove the door panels, but the driver side is a little tougher due to the wires for the power lock/window control console thing.

Hope this helps!

the door panel you could just hang it off if you're not changing the woofer. then there's just 2 pop clips for the tweeter trim piece. it's one solid piece as mentioned... no way to remove the tweeter w/out removing the panel.

Thanks, here's hoping I don't have to take it apart too many times.

a panel popper and a cloth under a small screwdriver are your friend. to the get aluminum trim off you'll need taht small screwdriver and cloth so you don't scratch/dent anything. The panel popper I use with a cloth as well so as not to scratch. And be careful putting it back on... make sure the panel clips are aligned correctly before pushing.
