Can someone give me a hint on removing 2005 Clock area?

I need to remove the clock area to fix a rattle/ticking that started. Can anyone tell me how to get that darn thing out? I tried pulling straight up but it wouldn't budge.

I think it means to pull towards the BACK of the car.....

to remove this piece in the 03-04's, you had to pull *really* hard towards the REAR of the car.

^^^ What he said... you really have to yank on it.. the first time. There are 2 tabs that are fixed in place and they will break off when u remove it the first time. After the first time its a breeze .. there are just 2 plastic clips holding it in place..
But yea. you have to pull it towards the rear of the car.. ( towards the back seats)
Hope that helps

confused

OK I'm really confused. Attached is an excerpt from my 2003 service manual (page IP-14) and it says to pull it UPWARDS. So which is it? If it's really backwards, how am I supposed to pull it backwards, as there is nothing to grap onto in that direction?

Anyone has pictures of the back side of this "cluster lid finisher"? If I can see it then perhaps I can visualize it.

Thanks.

03/04 is different from 05. The top portion is pulled out (towards you). Once that is done, the bottome protion is to be lifted straight up. 2 Piece assembly for 05.

Just like the post above on how to remove it. I just put some padding behind the clock assembly. Be careful not to loose the snaps!
