Preouts 4v or 6.5v?
Looking at a Pioneer Deck. The Pioneer version has 4V preouts, and the Premier version has 6.5V preouts? Should you always go with the higher voltage if the decks cost the same?
if you must go pioneer i agree with inno.
i went with the alpine 9835. not as easy to use but looks better and matches it with features.

Ummm, one thought to add here. The higher preamp signal is good to maximize the S/N ratio BUT you can possibly overdrive the AMP's input stage. For example my infiniti 7451a 111Wx4 amp specifies a maximum input voltage of 5V. Anything beyond that I assume would be clipped or distorted. Of course that would be at higher volume levels only - but you are essentially limiting the volume range of your HU if you don't match it up well with your AMP.
Just make sure your AMP can handle the 6.5V range. The stock HU put out 2.2V. Most aftermarket decks put out between that and 4V. If you're not going to be driving through an AMP, then I suppose this does not apply and higher is better!

If hes not using an amp at all than the preout voltage is complely irrelevant.
mrb: If your buying it legitly (ie: local store) than go for the Premier, the longer warranty may prove to be worth it.
