can't get my MP3 CDs to read

SO i've been trying to create an MP3 CD and have had no luck with it.. i have an 05 coupe with the Bose.

I've tried using Nero, iTunes, and just tried to copy the files over and it can never read the CD. I've been using CD-RWs which i've read may be difficult for some HU's to read, but i've also read of some people on here who have had no problems with CD-RWs, so i don't see why i should.

Also, the CDs that i have made seem to work fine in my other Car with an aftermarket HU.

I've finalized the CDs as well. Any ideas? Do you think it may be a defect in the HU?

I would just use regular CD-R. They are cheaper, and typically there are less compatability issues with them.

I haven't had problems with either, both types work in my 05 Bose. I actually found that CDRW worked better in my old kenwood HU.

are u dumping all your files into the 'root' folder? i had a similar problem on mine at first. when i dumped all my files into the root folder... the hu just seemed to keep checking the cd. after, i burned another cd but broke-up the files into folders... like 1, 2, 3, etc... that seemed to fix my problems. on a side note... has anyone had any audio problems in the heat? i've noticed my hu sometimes making weird digital noise on some of my tracks. at first i thought the cd was scratched ... but if i play the same track later in the day it plays clean. the cd also looks clean to the eye... i'm wondering if my laser is messed up? thanks in advance to any opinions.

another tip: burn at a slower speed

the faster u burn, the shallower the pits
the slower u burn, the deeper the pits

deeper pits = better readability and less skipping

I typically burn at 8x-16x without any problem with reads.

Only 05s have mp3 compatibility.

Try burning at slower speeds on regular CD-Rs. I usually burn at 24x and it reads fine.
