Sounds like you need a Zanex or some sedatives...( or sell that 8500 x50 ) for $100, save up $350 more and get a V1!!
Oh but it does....Radar(non-guns)mobile units works from all angles! These things aren't just for guns!

Wow, my V1 never false alarms set to L mode. It's much quieter than my 8500 I sold a long time ago and never looked back.

The V1 has had the POP feature for a while now Mine has it.

One thing that has NOT been mentioned is the "POP mode" feature that the 8500x50 has. It's not used in every state, but it IS used here in New York. POP is a short burst that gives very inaccurate readings, but the NY State Troopers here use it to gauge your initial speeds, and then lock in with Ka... and that's what they are suppose to use to put on your ticket. Cops here in NY are crooked, and I had the unfortunate experience of experiencing that... and I had to go to court to fight it.

What you'll see on your radar is a POP, and then by then a FULL Ka reading.

Law Enforcements are NOT suppose to use what they read from the POP mode feature due to the inaccuracies of it, but it does give them a general idea of how fast you're going before you slam on your brakes!

Personally, whenever I see Ka... I'm slamming on my brakes regardless. Call it a natural response, and it's saved me on many occasions.

My $0.02.

I didn't feel like posting the 1000 other tests since 2002 that puts BEL and Escort on top of the V1.

Oh really? And many other tests more recent ones in car magazines like C&D that tested them for 2004 I believe it was and V1 came out on top.

I owned BOTH, and can tell you from experience FAN BOY that the V1 is definitely better than the 8500. It gives a much earlier warning and it tells me where they are.

Get off your high chair and just admit the V1 has always been the best and will probably be for some time.

I can go on and on...... I wanted to sent an e-mail to Mr.V but the web site isn't working.

"Why are you using out-dated data when ading, and compairing your detector to the others?"

BEL has made quite an show as well, but V1 hasn't updated enough to even fight them?

WRAH... I think you are in denial and need to experience the V1 first hand! You have all the warnings that the 8500 x50 has, but with additional information, so I don't see how the x50 is soooo much better than the v1 and the v1 is such a peice of $hit.
