Subwoofer for 05 coupe?

Hey guys,
When I bought my car I asked the salesman if it had a subwoofer, to which I was told yes. I have been unable to find it, or find any documentation that it has one. Looking around here, it seems that the coupe does not come with the sub. Why is that?

Also, if I were to get a sub from a sedan, would it work/fit? I'm asking because if the coupe truely does not come with one, I'm going to my dealer to see what they will do for me. He lied and should compensate me for this. I'm thinking that a stock sub (if it would work) would be easier for me to get from the dealer than some aftermarket setup.

Thanks in advance!

If you have the BOSE system... the subs are not really subs per se. They are the rear speakers, with a bose amp. You're not going to get the deep low freq of a "true" sub.

Asked my salesman the same question but he never told me that the coupe came with a sub. He told me the sedan comes with a sub but the coupe doesn't. This is because they couldn't fit one in the coupe. Sedan sounds a lot better with than the coupe's sounds. If you want to add fuller sound to the car without waking up the street, I'd recommend Infinity Basslink.

^^^ True what chargie said. I would look at an aftermarket sub like the 4080 or custom built. The sedan has a sub in the rear deck between the rear speakers. It would mean you need to replace the entire rear deck to get that in the coupe and I am 90% sure it wouldn't even fit.

Thanks for the replies. I do have the Bose unit and the bass is OK but it doesn't hit the low notes as well as I'd like I don't want so much bass that I rattle my car loose but I would like to get a little more. I figured since the salesman told me it had it, I could try to push them to provide me with something, to make up for it. I thought maybe the sedan had a spare tire sub or something. I wonder if one of those would fit? My wife's Murano has one.

Not sure what the 8080 is?

It burns me up to see this... Blose did the same thing to the Mercedes C230 coupe versus sedan. I owned both and that dumb little 8" sub they put in really made a difference. Since it was mounted on the parcel shelf, I know there is/was room in both coupes (merc and inf).

They just needed to go to 5 or 6" rear sides and an 8" sub. But nooooo.

OK I have an update on this. I had to take my car in for something at the dealership yesterday and pressed them on the subwoofer issue, as I was told by the salesman the car did come with one. After some back and forth, they did tell me the car does not come with one (which I knew) so I asked how they plan to remedy the problem. They came back a few minutes later telling me they have ordered a sub (from their parts desk) that sits on the spare tire and will hook up to the stock amp.

Although I'm glad they are trying to make me happy, I'm wondering if this will even work? My wifes Murano has a spare tire sub that works great, and it is a Bose system so hopefully it will. I'll update again once it is installed just so you all know.

Any thoughts on this from the audio pros here? As long as the sub fits, it should work, but I wonder if the stock amp has the power to push it. I can't complain since its free but I'm a little leary.
