Question about DD conversion

I've tried to find info on this by searching but I can't find exactly what I'm looking for. I'm a complete noob when it comes to installing audio equipment and I'm about to start the DD conversion on my 2005 coupe. I'll be putting in a Kenwood Excelon DDX 8017. I will be upgrading the speakers and amp eventually but will have to wait for more money and the wife's approval.

My question is...will i be able to have a servicable system hooking up the aftermarket HU to the speaker harness/wires at the dash, or will I need to reroute something to the amp. If so, am I better off just waiting on the DD conversion until I've bought new speakers and amp to upgrade. Appreciate any input.

thanks,
Dave.

You can just get the Scosche NN03 wiring harness, and wire up directly to that. If you want a better setup, since you do have the amps, get the Scosche HU adapter.

So no you don't have to wait, but if you do, at least you get to take it all apart once! LOL!

appreciate the help. I don't have an amp just yet. I will need to do more research to figure out exactly which ones I want and how much I want to spend.

You said you were upgrading the speakers and amp, so I thought you meant the stock ones, implying (by amp) that you had the premium package Bose setup in your car. If you don't have the premium package Bose setup, you just need the wiring harness. If you do, thats when I would recommend the HU adapter. I purposefully didn't buy the premium package, since I knew I was upgrading all of this anyway.

What's that used for? Is that if you plan on using the Bose amp to power your speakers? Otherwise, one would have to have RCAs from the HU to aftermarket amps?

Is the headunit adapter necessary or can the NN03 harness be used? Will all 8 speakers work good on a premium car if you just hook up a head unit via the NN03 harness?
