Speakers at Best Buy...any good?
Hey everyone. I have about $150 in BB gift cards and I wanted to know if any of the speakers they sell are any good. I was looking to replace the component speakers up front with my bose stock system. Here is a link to their selection. Thanks guys!

They're better than stock, but I wouldn't get them. but you have a GC from them so it's not like you can use it to get speakers else where. Actually, what I would do is probably get some dynamat from them using the GC.
If I was to replace the component speakers, I go Boston Acoustic, MB Quart, Focal, or Infinity Perfects. Little bit more money, but definitely worth it and you can find deals on them all over the place.

... and the long answer is ... YES! (hehe sorry khsonic, but you were not being very helpful
)
The kenwood components p605ie are a great value. I tried them out for a few weeks with the stock AMP and was very impressed with the improvement in sound. Then I decided to change everything (amp + subs + new spks all around) and wanted to go a little more towards the higher end. The kenwood tweeters fit very nicely in the stock location. I would not hesitate to recommend them. The Diamond Audio gear I have now is simply amazing but it was also more than twice the cost (even at a 50% discount).

Well, actually I was being helpful. I am saving this gentleman from doing what you did. Buying cheaper equipment only to realize that there is much better product out there, then ending up spending twice as much because he didn't go with the good stuff to begin with. Here are some good brands to check out: Diamond Audio, Boston Acoustics, CDT, Image Dynamics, MB Quart. Image Dynamics makes some 2 ohm speakers that you could pair with the stock amp for now, then upgrade to a new amp later. Don't start with crap. Start with something good that you can build upon. Save your BB gift cards for some CD's to play on your new system. (Was that more helpful?)

Etronics or onlinecarstereo or acaraudio.com will get you great prices, but Diamond won't honor the warranty unless you go to a retail (non-internet) dealer. So your choice: pay double for the warranty or don't... I waited for a deal online and went for it. It turned out fine, but admittedly I think I had like only a 2 week return period - so had to install and test fast! I didn't even bother to send in the warranty card.
