It doesn't matter what the NAV screen is actually capable of. The only Video->NAV conversion boxes I've seen only accept NTSC input which is limited to 480 lines.

I believe the standard DVD spec for NTSC doesn't have any resolutions higher than 480 lines interlaced or progressive so you probably won't find anything higher in a standard DVD player.

^ Thats true....when shopping you never need to worry about these things. Only need to worry about NTSC (US Standard) versus PAL (Europe)...

I am running this DVD player with my stock NAV and the picture quality is excellent.
