PAC install help requested please!!

Ok, so I'm following the g35ipod instructions and it's working perfectly. I install the PAC Unit in the back of the stereo, Big Factory connector goes into bigger Pac Connector, then the other side of it goes in stereo. Smaller PAC connector replaces factory smaller connector. I turn my stereo on and hit SAT ... and nothing.. It won't do anything. No SR Chan 1, 2 etc. It's like the button doesn't do anything. I don't understand? I have the SAT harness in the back, and I removed the SAT plug in the front, so my car has to be SAT ready (plus I have the SAT button)?

There are 3 wires (blue red, blue black, yellow red?) on the PAC unit I haven't done anything with. They are the negative (-) outputs? In his instructions though he never showed hooking those up. Any suggestions would be superb at this point!!

also, on my doorjam it says "This vehicle has been equiped with the ability to have an optional SAT radio installed." monthly fee's blah blah apply.

I also have a little red light inside the PAC unit itself that when I turn the ignition on, it blinks 10 times and then goes out. I don't know if that helps anyone. However, that does mean it is getting power of some kind for it to be blinking (which tells me that connector is in there good).

I believe you have to connect the power[+] and ground[-] wires to make the PAC unit work. Doesn't sound like you did that unless you forgot to mention it above. If you go to the PAC website their should be instructions on how to connect it to the car.

Connect the harnesses. The smaller harness (12-pin) is for the SAT input, and the larger, double-sided harness (10-pin) is for power. Plug the 12-pin harness into the smaller receptacle in the back of the radio. The old 12-pin plug will no longer be used. Insert the 10-pin plug into the larger receptacle in the back of the radio, then connect the old plug to the open harness on the AAI-NIS.

Small harness = did that ... only fits in one hole
Double sided harness = did that ... also only fits into one hole
12 Pin bigger harness = did that .. it was the only one left that wasn't plugged in..

from looking at the pictures I'm confident I did this right. What I'm not confident of are the other 3 wires that are left.
In the instructions it says:

the yellow/black is for the SWI-X (which I don't have .. it's what controls the steering wheel).

It says the Blue/Red wire = Aux 1 (-) Remote Output. This wire Provides negative output when the radio is in Aux 1.

It says the Blue/black wire = Aux 2 (-) Remote Output. This wire Provides negative output when the radio is in Aux 2.

Now at this point none of these r connected up. Is this what I'm doing wrong?

^^ does no one know this answer?? or has this just been beaten to death so no one wants to take the time? I tried searching the forums but I didn't find anyone with this issue. I also emailed the PAC corp and I'm hoping to receive answer from them.

I would post the question on g35ipod.com's forum. Ken is pretty good about responding to your questions especially regarding PAC installs.

Yeah, Ok, I emailed PAC Audio and they said that it sounds like I have a defective unit. So I guess I will send it back and get another one!

Thanks!
