Time for a new battery , not Optima
Time for a new battery , not Optima
My coupe is now 3 1/2 years old!! The battery doesn't seem last as long as it use to when listening to the stereo system which has been upgraded
I want to replace the battery before I get stranded some day. What have other people bought? I know I could get an Optima but I want 1 step better, lighter yet heavy duty
Thanks
Mark

Braille
If you have a system, get two braille batteries(If stock just get 1). Each ways 11.5 lbs. and each has 360 cold crank amps. Read some posts on other forums about these batteries, and also visited their website. Looks like a quality product.
I have a SVR battery in the trunk and an Interstate heavy duty battery up front. The interstate is a MUCH better battery than the optima yellow top imo.
In my Eclipse I used to own, I used the yellow top. I had a moderately powered system in there and the battery died during a local audio competition within an hour. This was when the battery was only a month old. I received another optima and during another comp, it died again with an hour. Switched to an interstate, and i NEVER experienced that problem again. The interstate lasted 3 years of abuse with no problems. As far as im concerned, optima is all hype. You can get a better battery for less money.
Im sure there will be a bunch of optima owners that have great things to say about the battery, but i'm giving you my perspective as someone who puts heavy strain on the battery frequently. If a battery holds up with my abuse, then it is definitely worth praise.

Thanks for the responses. I am thinking of 2 Braille batterries. Need to mount them, especiallly the one in the rear. Our cars have reverse terminal , do I need to worry about that also? Do I have get an isolator or can I just paralellel them?
If this turns into much of a hassle the Interstate weighs in at 50lbs!!!heavy
I have 2 Phoenix gold amps running 2x250 4ohms 60 amp fuse and 1 900 or so 2 ohm 80 amp fuse (they won't rate it at 2 ohm mono but say it is ok to run this way, weird) which is not show stuff but takes some juice

What is an SVR battery?
oops 2.5 years
