Mids and high's...

I want to change all the speakers in my coupe. But, what do I need to get? 6.5's for the front? Or are they smaller? Also, I know I'm going to get a component set for the front door speakers, but what should I get for the rear? I plan on running everything off of a 4 channel amp.

So, the 6.5 coaxials are in the rear pannels? What did you put in the rear decklid?

I wouldn't replace the rear 6x9s. Just disconnect them. Replacing them is a waste of money. Just get a sub for your trunk.

I also wouldn't worry too much about the rear speakers. Unless if you always have people sitting in your back seat, you don't need them. I'm disconnecting them also for now and if I think that they'll add to the sound, I'll add some coaxials later. I bought a nice component set (CDT ef-61cfi/24) for the fronts and an Image Dynamics IDQ10 subwoofer for the trunk (along with two amps of course). I just need to find a decent sub box for the sub. I know about the 4080 box and I'll probably end up with it but I don't really want to spend $300+ for a box.

I think I'll probably do the same thing with the rear 6x9's. Maybe even take them out so you can get more sound from the sub I put in the trunk. I ordered everything today though. I went all MTX.
For the front I got the Thunder Axe High-End components. For the rear side speakers, I just got their coaxials. For a sub I got a Thunder9500 10". And for an amp to push the sub, I got their class D mono amp, the Thunder7801. I would have bought another 4 channel amp to run the mids and high's but everything I got was already over 1k. So, I have an older Pioneer 1100 watt 4 channel that I am going to use for now. I'll probably just upgrade later.

here are links to the products on the mtx website.

Amp

Coaxials

I also need to find a box to put the sub in. I would love to get the 4080 box but.. I just don't think I can afford it now. Does anyone have a used one they want to sell for a 10" sub??

All MTX? Interesting choice. I probably would have picked a different brand to go with if you were going to get everything from one manufacturer. Eclipse, Alpine, JL Audio, or MB Quart would have been the brands i considered.

In any case, you did buy some nice equipment. As far as a box is concerned, just pick up a cheap temporary 3/4" or 1" MDF box that corresponds to the specs of the sub for now. Later, maybe you can upgrade that box to the one you want.
