Awesome Job!

Now that I have some good ideas from all that who posted, I'll get to the doors later on this weekend and post some pics when I'm done.

Hey shooter, noticed you got a KPT window module as well... LOVE that thing!

home made baby!...........

you can use the bose speaker as a template to get the outside dimensions of the mdf ring and the door mounting hole locations.......the speaker you choose (MB Quart, Infinity Ref. etc.) should come with a mounting ring that can be used for the speaker hole and the speaker mounting hole locations.........

just trace these dimensions and cut the mdf ring.......dry fit it all up and check for fit, adjust as necessary........

I must be missing something. Why not just use the bose speaker? Takes all of five min.

Hey G352NV.... Took your advice and cut out the stock Bose speaker to fit in my components. I had originaly picked up a set of MB Reference series components, but had a problem with one of the crossovers (high side wasn't working) so I returned them and got a set of Polk Audio's (they were basically the same price & specs).

Here you can see the Polk 6.25" woofer and how well it sits in the (cut out) Bose speaker housing, as well as the crossover everything is connected too...

Here you can see how I replaced the OEM tweeter with the Polk unit and how the stock metal bracket works perfectly to hold it in place....

The over-all sound is cleaner, crisper and louder than the Bose (noticeably the highs). I now find myself playing my music louder and it sounds awesome! I'm currently running no amp (just the stock Bose), but may install one later this fall as I have plans on going Double Din...

So if anyone is on the fence on upgrading their stock door speakers, don't wait another minute! It's worth the effort, which by the way took me about an hour to do both sides.

Hey guys, now that my front are done and I've got the sub in, I'm looking at swapping out the rears (not the decks) with either components or coax's, don't know exactly what route to take, or if its even worth the effort? Any idea's or input would be great! What size are they anyways???

putting components in the rear would move your sound stage back... feels/sounds weird to me. i'd say either get some coax or just don't worry about them.
