Installed 4080 w/ MB Quart Sub & Amp
Just dropped in a 4080 enclosure with an MB Quart 10" sub & amp...

The sub is an MB Quart Reference series model PWE 252 (2ohm DVC), which I'm running in series to get 4ohm's. The amp is also by MB Quart, and part of their Reference series, model RAA2400, which I'm running bridged to get 800watts at 4ohm's. It's a powerhouse of an amp!

I've also setup and installed an Audiocontrol Epi-Center to control the bass levels, with everything hooked up and wired with Phoenix Gold hardware. As you can see from the pics, I kept a more simplistic install with everything (wires and misc hardware) hidden out of view. IMO it looks cleaner that way. No one needs to see my cap, RCA's and fuses.
The sound is clean, tight and hits very nice! The MB Quart sub performs like a champ, and I'm very happy with the 4080 enclosure. The only problem I had was that the MB Quart sub's magnet and housing was a little large and actually was touching one area of the enclosures interior, so I had to fab up a small spacer ring out of MDF to extend the sub out a little. Other than that, the whole install went very smooth, and I think the end results speaks for its self...

Actually it doesnt rattle that bad, but then again, I've got a good portion of the trunk and lid covered in Dynamat. I also filled the rear deck liner with poly-fill to absorb some of the rattle that was there from the factory (Infiniti has a TSB on that), so all in all, the sound is pretty clean. There are a few more places I've noticed that rattle a bit, so I'm going to hit them when I get a chance. . . .
Edit: I'm also not using the amp to its fullest. The gains are at a hair over 1/4 percent, which means I'm probably only pushing like 200-300watts into the sub.

Some more pics...
As you can see, the MB amp fit perfectly behind the rear seat. A little too perfect if you ask me. Lined right up with the rear seat latch and bottom section of the trunk. One feature I love about the MB amp is that you see no wires, no buttons, no lights. It's all hidden behind little compartments, which keeps the whole install looking super clean, not to mention safe from anything making contact or snagging off a terminal, RCA or wire. With the amp mounted where it is and the way its designed and built (no plastic, all aluminum), I'm still able to drop down my seat and haul around stuff if need be. One of the MAJOR reasons why I swapped out the dual 10 setup I had prior (took too much room and weighed a ton)...

Close up of the 4080 box, and for those who I have noticed ask about how it mounts into place, there's a small aluminum tab thats bolted up on to the top of the box. After you slide the box into the corner, which by the way is a tight fit on its own (not like it's going to go anywhere), you lift up the trunks OEM weather strip / seal and the tab that's bolted on to the top of the box, it will lay perfectly flush with where the weather strip / seal slides down on. Once in place, you simply push the strip / seal back down, and it not only covers up the aluminum tab, but it now holds the box in place. It's not going anywhere! Easy, simple and quite effective. Another plus for the 4080 box are the gold plated RATTLE FREE screw-type speaker terminals in the rear. One of my major pet peeves with custom boxes is how some come with cheap terminals. The box is great, but the terminals rattle so bad, it makes you want to get out and break the box in half. The 4080 box has ZERO rattle, which I love!

It sounds great! I had a Basslink prior, which was nice (best bang for the buck I've ever spent), but just didn't have the "kick" the setup I have now does. The box is made by a fellow forum member who goes by the name 4080. I paid $299 for it and it came with the standard grill (pictured) and free shipping. The MB Quart components we're a little pricey, but are top-notch in quality, build and over-all performance. They've always been praised by just about anyone and everyone who's into car stereo's for as long as I can remember, so it was a no brainer in selecting MB.
Next up are my fronts. I got a set of MB components, took apart the doors, and now I'm working on fabbing them in. Problems that I have encountered so far are the shallow mounting depths within the door itself, so I'm looking into surface (panel) mounting the speakers to give them more room to breath. I have a few ideas, don't know which route I'm going to take just yet, but it's over for me - I've cought the audio bug and theres no turning back now...

A good way to mount the mids is to cut the center of the bose speakers. Tear the paper out of the speaker then take a jig saw and cut the tabs in the middle. Now mount the MB's to the bose plastic ring. Worked perfect! I also mounted the crossover to the door.

I ran the wires, just like you would to any sub setup, but instead of just leaving them hanging over everything, I opted to conceal it all behind the rear seat. The panel the amps on, pops off, therefore I was able to wire it up in a manor that makes the amp looks like its just floating and not actually hooked up to anything. The power, speaker outputs and RCA's, all flow through the rear seat and out the bottom to the apropriate connections. The Epi-Control, the cap and all my fuses I mounted aside the factory BOSE amp underneath the plastic cover next to the spare tire. There's plenty of room there for such items...
A huge THANK YOU goes to 4080 for his prompt and curteous service with the enclosure. G352NV, great idea man! I was actually thinking about just making a small MDF spacer (like I had to do for the MB subs) but I think I'll just use your method instead. As for the subs hitting hard, dude they get the job done! The sub itself is a monster and simply stunning to look at. Just one 10" juiced with 25% of 800watts of power is killer. You're going to love the them!

very nice install ducatiguy! the 4080 box is excellent! great construction, built to last, well thought out design!
I had the same issue with my diamond audio 10 inch sub...the BFM (big f%^&ing magnet) was hitting the back of the enclosure, but an mdf ring solved that issue.......i installed my infinity ref. speakers using an mdf ring as well.......
