man 2 12s are over kill. In a g with the limit space you only need 1 12s or 2 10s.

In regards with the rattle you going to need to dynomat your trunk. And maybe even the head liner.

playing it normally w/ in its parameters will break in the sub. don't crank it all the way to its max power capabilities. if you play it at low volume it won't really stretch out the sub's surround. we typically run low level low frequency test tones for several hours to fully break in a sub. I'd say just crank it how you normally would want to play it on a day to day basis... it'll break in on its own.

alirght that sounds good.. when i put the bass up to like -1 or 0...i get this popping noise... really loud.. is that cause i havent broken the subs in all the way?

i heard of dynomat, but can i seal it around the sunroof?

popping sound? hmmm... if it bothers you then just don't do it and wait it out haha. seriously though, if something doesn't sound right don't do it. i'll check into that popping noise... hopefully have an answer soon.

[edit]

Just thought of something. What's the settings like on your amp? turn the bass boost all the way down and gain 50% up. I never like using bass boost... at most like +3dB. Anyways, the "popping" may be the sub bottoming out? I'm not sure since I can't see/hear it. But definitely check the settings on the amp. Post back what the settings are approximately.

do you have the 12w6v2? or v1?

The 1000/1 is a seriously powerful amp! I've dealt with them on many occassions and had 2 running simultaneously in my old car. (drew power like a mo fo...so many electrical upgrades I went broke! LOL)

2 v2's can handle it IF you know what you're doing.

2 v1's....they'll be blown in a matter of days.

be careful either way!

Most of the time when you have a "popping noise" (from my own experiences) its due to over powering the sub, or second the sub itself is toast. From what you've stated (equipment that you're running) and taking into consideration everythings pretty much new, I'll have to say its probably more so that you're gains are up to high or you're running the subs on too high of a freq. Another thing to check, does your amp have a clipping alert light or indicator? That's a sure shot way to tell you're juicing the subs to much and you'll get the infamous pop or click from it under heavy loads.

Last but not least, you can pretty much put Dynamat anywhere you want, as well as around your sunrooof, but I dont know how effective it will be. You need to first isolate the sound. Have any ideas what exactly is rattling or vibrating. If you can pin point it (for example, when the sounds there and you hold down an area and it goes away), you should be able to make it go away with Dynamat, but if its a combination of things, it may be hard to do without hampering the normal operations of the unit.
