Q: for Eclipse avn2494 owners

Did you need the "Double Din Bracket" to mount the head unit? Or did you use the one from the stock head unit?

if the 2494 is similar in any way to the mounting holes on the 5495, you can use the stock one.

BUT...you are going to have to custom drill some holes. even the "aftermarket" bracket comes with four holes that do not match up with the eclipse unit.

unless I am doing something wrong, you are going to custom drill holes. might as well save your money and use the OEM one.

i have not finished installing it, so if anyone has any input, please chime in.

Vinh, let me know when your project is done. The only thing that has stopped me from getting a navi was the extra $500 I would have to spend on mounting hardware.

it won't be done for a month or so since I'm gonna try to do something unique with the headunit

you're still gonna need to buy the AC controller ($200) and double din finisher ($64). Those are costs for a 2003-2004. The 2005 may be slightly different.

drsifu1 - I clicked on the link to your site in your Sig. Your G is georgeous and quite unique. I took one of your pictures and made it into an icon for you. It's a little bigger that the one you have, but still within the 100px limit.

Feel free to download it and use it if you want. I'll remove my link after you see it. If you don't want to use it, that's fine too. I was just perusing your site and started fiddling while my dinner was cooking.

Thought you might like it...
