P.S. - This does NOT mean that your entire warranty will be "voided"!! If there are any "problems" with any portion of the vehicle that can be attributed to the installation of said "Wiring Harness" or Satellite Radio Receiver, then any possible future repairs for this system will be between the consumer and the selling dealer, NOT the manufacturer!!

I just want to say that these numbers are off. At least from my experience. I am way below that Vin number and my car came prewired. Also I did not have that 1.5" plate on my car. Since I am already prewired, I have an extra SAT harness for sale. Check the Parts/Accessories section, i've posted it there $30 including shipping.

For people who are not prewired, I think it kind of sucks that the dealer will not touch their car to install an Infiniti Part to enable their SAT system. They need some loven too.

As of TODAY (07/07/2003) Infiniti has FINALLY come out with "model specific" detailed satellite radio installation instructions for ALL FACTORY PRE-WIRED 2003 model year Infiniti vehicles (G35, G35C, I35, M45, FX35/45 and Q45). If you would like a copy of these instructions for your specific vehicle, please contact Infiniti of Pleasanton (CA) at (925)224-7640 or (800)421-8223 (nor-cal only) OR e-mail us at michael.barnes@hendrickauto.com

If you do NOT know if your vehicle is pre-wired, the ONLY way to tell, is to check the left/front door opening (not the dor itself) for the 1.5" square BLACK decal located either just below or just above the driver's side doorjamb strikeplate.

The following V.I.N. ranges for PRE-WIRED vehicles are:

MY03 G35 COUPE - Serial Number -210827 and later
MY03 G35 SEDAN - Serial Number -321894 and later
MY03 I35 - Serial Number -112061 and later
MY03 M45 - Serial Number -005899 and later
MY03 Q45 - Serial Number -102148 and later
(NOTE: ALL FX35's and FX45's are PRE-WIRED and will not necessarily have the pre-wiring sticker affixed to the doorjamb)

The "bulletin" also goes on to state that "only vehicles that have been factory pre-wired are capable of having Satellite Radio installed, either through the VPC or at the dealership. The serial numbers listed in the table (above) indicate the starting point of factory pre-wiring for the applicable MY03 models. There is no (factory supported) retroactive kit for installing Satellite Radio in any vehicle produced prior to these serial numbers."


We also STOCK both XM and SIRIUS Satellite Radio kits for ALL models!!

MSRP for the kits are $346.00 (+tax) for the "base" kit and an additional $20.00 (+tax) for the G35 "antenna wire cover"

Ask your local Parts Department BEFORE you purchase the "Pathfinder" retro. wiring harness (Part# B8377-5Y700) IF they will stand behind any future problems with the Satellite Radio kits in your NON-pre-wired vehicle. THE FACTORY WILL NOT BE HONORING ANY (SATELLITE RADIO RELATED) WARRANTY IN THOSE VEHICLES!!

I've been getting about 5 requests per day to send out the instructions...

 

I have a 2003.5 6 speed sedan. My VIN# is about 3700 short of the 321894 VIN that is used in the factory sevice bulletin for SAT radio. Was you VIN number lower than say 318200? I really would like to have SAT radio in my G35. I have had XM before and where I live is very rural no radio stations.

 

My coupe was prewired and I easily installed the XM kit from Grubbs Infiniti that I got for about $300. My VIN was about 10 or 20 lower than the official Coupe VIN cutoff. My headunit has the SAT button and I took apart the trunk to see that I had the white plastic harness coupling that plugs into the XM tuner. It is on the left side of the trunk next to the Bose amp in my coupe but I'm not sure the location to look for it in a sedan.

Thanks for the info. I spoke to Mike Barnes the parts guy who posted this thread and he said the same thing about the coupe. Does anyone have a sedan that has a lower VIN# than the sevice bulletin that could verify where the satellite unit connects. Mike told me the same info about the coupe that the connector is in the trunk by the Bose amp. I looked in the trunk of my sedan (took all the carpet out) no amp, no connector. Any sedan owners know where the connector is would be helpful. Thanks
