I'm looking to upgrade my current Navi disk (v6.2) when v6.4 comes out. Anyone got a guess when that will be?

Version 6.4 is now available from the Zenrin website for $190.

 

whats the difference? is it better to upgrade?

 

Well, i know my nav is a bit out of date. A lot of the POI's are not even around anymore...

I should update, but $190 is a bit steep for the upgrade right now.

 

If you order it, can you give some feedback on how it compares to an older version of the disc. Thanks!

Got it last night, uploaded it last night, used it today...it's the same except for some better street knowledge, IE, not worth it.

EG, I upgraded my mobil NAV from Magellan in my Sierra Denali for $600...it's 200% worth it. I got a new interface, better colors/GUI, a lot quicker software for faster reroutes and direction calculation, added points of interest, etc, etc...

The NAV upgrade for the infiniti changes nothing...I live in MA...this is how stupid the NAV is...if I am entereing a city and I click in B...O....S...it still keeps letting me go all the way...and never suggests BOSTON...waste of time b/c you never know when the searches are narrowed down to where you need, and today, just like with the old software I typed in Boston, then for a street I typed in S...O...U...T...H...and then there was no choice to type in an H...yet, if I hit "List" sure enough Southhampton is right in there....and it's all one word...I give up.

This NAV is worth the $2k it costs if you are in outside sales or service like me...all day long...but the upgrades are not worth the jewl case they come in.

Wait...GUI is replaced by cd version?!?! I thought it was firmware of the drive! Crap...this may be worth it afterall....
