Garmin c330 Nav
Hi, GEE35X!
I have read plenty of post about your recommandation on the C330, and I am very interested in it.
I am currently an owner of TomTomGo (first gen.; not even 300 and 700), and I don't really like it because it takes a long time to pick up the signal and it never tells me which freeway to enter. The maps are not updated either.
However, I am planning to get the C340 instead; cus' I need this: http://www.garmin.com/products/gtm10/
Have you ever tried the 340 before? I read some reviews of both 340 and 330 on amazon yesterday, and everyone seems rave about 330 and dislikes 340 as it is too buggy..
Thanks!

I got my parents a Garmin C320 (the same as the 330 except it doesnt have the maps built in, you load them onto an SD card via a computer) for Christmas and showed them how to use it/played with it myself. I've had several different GPS's over the years (all garmin's, my current one being a Garmin iQue 3600 PDA/GPS) and I have say I really do like the C320, especially for people new to GPS, and not too technically inclined. Its VERY simple to use (most important thing for my parents, since if its not simple, they wont use it), but also very powerful. Navtech maps are the best out there, and Garmin's interfaces are always smooth and intuitive. The speaker is built into the unit and I was surprised how clear it sounds, much better than the speaker/power adapter set up that came with my iQue's auto kit. The screen is beautiful, nice contrast and at full brightness, it can be seen in direct sunlight, though it can glare a bit at the right angles. The only things I missed were the abilities to easily mark waypoints and the slowness of searching for a name of a Point of Interest without first narrowing down the search parameters (ie searching the whole database and not just the "Gas Stations" database). Other than that, the thing is a beaut, and pretty inexpensive (bought at newegg for $429 after a $120 instant rebate).
