Person 1: nuh uh... you are...

hahah thats just a small skit... but i have the x50, saved me a few times... and no i m not hating on the v1... i think they both very good radars, it just depends on your budget, one gives you arrows, the other doesnt...

The one thing I like about the V1 over the 8500 is it shows what direction the signal is coming from. The negative thing about the V1 is you can't see what band radar it is at night. I have used both and they are both good units, the V1 costs a grip compared to the 8500 though.

Both are great, you'll be happy with either. I use the escort x50 myself and its saved my *** a few times. Its nice to see the Ka on the display though, 99% its a CHP in Cali.
Things to consider between the 2 are....price, size, sensitivity, false alarms, mounting locations, apperance. I paid $260 for my blue x50 on ebay.
Check out this site for more info http://www.radarbusters.com/ and decide for yourself, either way $260-$400 for a radar unit is cheaper than a speeding ticket and the insurance rate hike just from getting busted once.

I love my BEL RX65. It has gotten excellent reviews as well. I believe it also beat the escort and valentine on one test. I think the site was www.radartest.com

+1 for the Bel RX65. Very close to the X50 in tests (beat Valentine & X50 in some) and can be found a little bit cheaper. It has saved me several times. Can't go wrong with the X50 or the Valentine though.

On a more serious note, I use a Bel and swear by it.
