so i've committed to the jlw6's but i heard the w3's will sound good as the w6's. i have the 4080 box as well. do you guys think the w6's are worth it's money compare to w3's? its like half the price~ is their a big difference on the sub besides the wattages..does it do the pounding and sq job for jlw6 as to compare the jlw3's. i know this topic has been beaten to dealth but want some secured input from you peoples that have the w3's and w6's.

I just installed a w3 in my 4080 box. It's excessive, and I don't even have the gains on my 500/5 turned up half way on the sub channel. I was concerned about the sub successfully playing "through" the rear deck & rear seat, but at 250 watts and < 1/2 full gains from the amp it's loud enough to wake the dead. However, I don't like excessive bass, I like tight, balanced, complimentary bass, which this sub also gives me. After proper tuning of the filters and adjustments of the gains, this sub is a wonderful compliment.

I used to run two JL10w3 at 300 watts each at 350 watts in a huge @ss MDF box. This single 10w3v2 @ 250 sounds no different when it is set to an output that compliments the system. SPL wise, it definately doesn't come close, but I don't plan on entering any competitions either
