Question for 04' - 06' OEM NAVi owners
Dan,
That does look ghetto, the Mt fugi even looks pixelated. I would definitely see about having the bios upgraded to at least what you had/ aka what you paid for when you bought the car.
Anyone have a pic of what the 05 screen looks like?

'04 Nav Screen
In a perfect world, my screen would be a black background w/silver Infinity symbol. It appears rather dark grayish w/Infiniti emblem in silver. Has yellow band with "please wait" written in it while it's thinking.......
I imagine the color silver vs red is controlled by the DVD for the nav system. My DVD is a 6.2 release and my coupe is an O4 with vin# 802xxx. The '05 models use a 7.x DVD and they can not be interchanged with the 6.x versions.
Hope this helps

The startup screen is part of the built-in management software hard coded into the control unit. That's why I think they gave me a control unit for the 03' models. Even though, when I called back to inquire about this, they claimed they ordered the control unit using my VIN, so it has to be an 04' unit.
My response to the dealer's answer.... I raise the BS flag

Good luck!!!
I'll show the screen to the service associate at my dealer next time I bring my car for service. I'll ask him to show me the NAV on one of the 04-05-06 models they have on the lot.
