XM Roady XT Installed. *PICS*
OK so I installed the XM Roady XT yesturday. Used the 2nd input on my pac-audio input adapter. The install went pretty smoothly, i used a dremel to pass the wires into the nav compartment. Also, instead of ruining the exterior of the car, I mounted the antenna in the front windshield. I drove around like this for a while and there apperared to be no negatives associated with this placement.

If you have time, would you mind posting an update on reception with antenna in that location ?

1) The price of my install was $99 (the price of the unit)
2) Found a promotion code (XMSCION03) that gives me 3 months free, and no activation charges (didn't even have to give XM my credit card number, it'll just turn off in 3 months)
3) I didn't want an antenna on my roof
4) The stock HU display sucks for XM textual content
5) I can bring the unit into my house or anywhere I want to listen to XM
...I could keep going but I think you get my point.

OK. Install info as requested:
The first leg of my install was to install the Pac-Audio AAI-NIS behind the HU. I had to unplug the pre-wired sat cable (that runs to the trunk where the OEM reciever would be) and plug the AAI-NIS in it's place. I made a splice off the 12v wire behind the cigarette lighter for the belkin ipod auto cable, which allows me to have audio and power coming into my iPod over one cable. Once the AAI-NIS was in place, cycling through the radio button (or mode button on the steering wheel) would show SR-1 / SR-2 following FM2. SR-1 being aux-1 and SR-2 being aux-2. After the audio stuff was done I went ahead and made a second splice, hardwiring my radar detector while everything was already taken apart.
This weekend I did the Roady XT. I removed the panels again, cut a hole in the side of the NAV cubby with a dremel, and ran power, audio, antenna through. I chose the side of the cubby because small objects would get lost if I had done it on the bottom. Anyway, I ran my audio to the pac-audio's 2nd input, and bought a wired cigarette lighter adapter, and a splitter, so I didnt have to break apart the cigarette lighter power cable for the XM unit...
As far as mounting goes, I have some high strength 3M double sided tape holding the unit onto the back of the cubby door. When you close the door the unit simply flips upside down and hides inside perfectly. I've been thinking about switching to some industrial strength velcro instead though, so if I feel like bringing the unit inside my house to listen to it wont be a pain in the ***.
Hope this helps, if you need a specific question answered just let me know, I'll be happy to help.

FYI you also get the 3 month free promotion from XM or Sirius if you tell them you are activating a nissan installed sat radio. Our stupid OEM radios are overpriced.
I have have my factory antenna on my rear deck on a small metal plate and it works perfectly.
