Aftermarket Sub in place of Bose OEM sub?

Just curious if it is possible/has any one done it. Is it possible to just replace the OEM Bose sub that comes with the premium package with an aftermarket sub.

The OEM sub sounds like sh*t and it is all muffled. Does anyone know what size it is? 8" 10" 12"???

Also, if you just replace it with a better sub can the BOSE amp power it?

Thanks/

The 2003.5 G35 sedan we were in yesterday had a 6" driver. I don't know of any 6" I'd replace it with.

And no. It can't. That woofer is I think the only 2 ohm driver in the whole car. You could try getting an ED 6.5 dvc 4 ohm and paralleling them down to two, and make a mounting plate and everything to mount it, and get it all done, and then play it and find out it was a silly thing to do.

I am the 2003.5 G35 el_duderino referenced. Check out the amp. Slightly bigger than my mouse. Not much substance there. Nice fins though. Take a look at that awesome tweeter as well. I won't miss 'em.

Does anyone make a harness adaptor to go from the one that plugs into the Bose amp to standard connectors or bare wire? That would make replacing the amp so much easier and less permanant.
