Just put in Sirius, something weird about it

Hey all,

I just got done putting in the OEM Sirius kit in my '05. I got the windshield mounted antenna off Grubbs so nothing on the outside

The weird part is the receiver. Grubbs states that all the receivers they sell need a splitter and an antenna to work. I ordered the receiver from www.everythingg35.com as it was cheaper and noticed something odd when I got it. The unit didn't need a splitter to plug in the antenna. What's more, it came with an antenna too! Grubbs lists the receiver for $309 with no antenna while the other site has the unit for $265 and it comes with an antenna! Is Grubbs just gouging the patrons?

By the way, does anyone on here want to buy the extra antenna and splitter from me? It is meant to be mounted in the outside of the car but can be put most anywhere. Let me know via PM.

I thougth that this was changed from 2004->2005. The earlier kits came with the receiver and the antenna. Then for the 2005 model year, they stopped including the antenna.

This was discussed when the 05's came out.

Well I guess I got the kit for an '04. It stills works the same. What about the splitter? Did the '04 's not need one either?

Scottsdale Infiniti (aka everything g35.com) always packaged the antenna and oem unit together. Previously they were the same price as grubbs, but it appears you got the better deal. The OEM box needs both antenna inputs plugged in to work properly, most antennas need the splitter; only some older models don't.
