Quick question, Amp/Sub setups

Very quick question, i would like to know how you guys set up your systems with stock HU with the bose system. I have been having problems wireing it, someof you might know form my previous posts - but im gonna be rewireing the car in hopes to fix it....anyways, Do you guys go from the radio (before the bose amp) or from the rear speakers (after the bose amp).

Remember, its on a stock 05 Bose HU....where do you recomend/where did you do it and did you encounter problems?

You will be overwhelmed with the wealth of information you'll find if you do a search. I am currently upgrading my bose and was able to find out everything I needed to know by searching.

Good luck.

my amps take line level... i removed the bose amp and connected from the wires that were going into the amp. didn't encounter any problems and sounds decent... of course the HU upgrade would improve things drastically... i may just add a second HU to keep the stock look.

First, it may be a "very quick question" but it has been covered to extensive, almost exhaustive , length in this forum. Do a search, just like autopainter recommended, you'll be amazed.

That doesn't really explain whether you are suggesting to put it before or after the amp.

sorry for not searching....with that being said i ussually search before posting anyhting on any threads. Yeah, forgot to search this once ~ o well. anyways, thanks for the feedback. Lazy just once more here, anyone recommend where to connect the remote (REM) cable to that would be best? I had done it to the ignition but i dont like that idea at all, and it was probably what was keeping my amp on after a while after the car was off and was causing problems.

someone recommended a fuse, but the ones i tried dont turn on withthe car, any suggestions?

The light blue wire going into the Bose amp is a +12v ignition wire. That's what I use. That question was a little better, I couldn't find a definite answer when I was doing my install either

Just do DD Conversion. I did all this crap you are talking about and yes it did sound better, but I got noise. I spent a lot of money on some QSD's which could never reach their potential with the stock HU.

DD is the way to go if you really want your stereo to sound clean.

Did you run your own speaker wires and run the power wire on the opposite side of the speaker wires/RCA cables? I'm using the stock HU right now with aftermarket amps/speakers and have no noise issues at all. The DD conversion is a good idea but cost a boat load in parts alone not including a new HU.

That's a terrible solution for having noise. First, I and many others have the stock HU running an aftermarket system and there is no noise. I had some noise at first, but it was my own fault for installing improperly (power line running too closely to my audio wires, and then using some crappy LOCs that had their gains turned way up).

In the end it's all electronics, and it shouldn't be difficult to remove noise. Doing a DD conversion to solve noise issues is like blowing up a house because a door creaks. Sure your door won't creak anymore, but...

You're both right. He did also say that he couldn't get the money's worth out of his expensive speakers with the OEM HU.

But I agree that if you haven't gotten rid of your noise issues, you don't know what your SQ is really gonna be...

as for a DD conversion, id do it wihtout hesitation if i didnt have a stock navi....and the REM cable i was talking about was the one to the aftermarket amp - not the bose amp.

Where should i get the turn on lead for the amp from? originally i had it from the ignition wire itself, but it was keeping my amp on after the car was off for a couple seconds and giving me a BOOOOOOOOM as loud as the gain on the amp is to the subs alone. So to solve my 4 month problem, i need to find a fuse to wire my REM to, my question again is...which should i do it too? some of the ones i tried dont turn on with the car

I just told you. Use the light blue wire that WAS going into the Bose amp for your aftermarket amp's remote turn-on lead. The light blue wire is fused, and is +12v ignition. I use it for my remote wire on my 500/5

Yup, did all that and still had noise.
