How many of you ditched the spare tire?

Planning out my system right now, and I'm trying to decide if I want to ditch the spare tire or not. Who's ditched theirs?

Are you doing this for shows and etc or is this going into your daily driver? If it's show, I'd make the most room for a setup. If it's your daily driver, it is going to suck to get stuck with a flat going to work. Even worst if you live in the middle of nowhere. I doubt road side assistance will have a spare for you if you were to call them. Your only option would be leave the car to a tow trunk in the event of a flat. You can however do a pretty good setup with the spare if you're willing to give up trunk space. It just takes some creativity.

I am a big fan of: if it requires you to remove your spare tire, you're not planning well enough. I guess some installs NEED the space, but I think those installs are silly. Just my opinion... (you add that so people don't flame you because they are defensive of their [or their buddy's] no-spare-tire-setup).

The spare tire is a necessity. If I get a flat, I can put the spare on and get going again in about 15 minutes. Waiting for a tow truck to arrive, tow to tire shop or dealer, etc. will take hours. I also don't always carry a cell phone so I'd be sitting on the side of the road just waiting for help. No thank you.

if you want all show then just flush it out and pack it with subs/amps..but if your a daily driver and like to cruise around, then leave it in.

If you don't have the spare, won't Roadside assistant help for free if the car is under warranty?

If so, I'm going to take it out to save gas and unload some weight.

Just buy a leather tire cover like people use for the spare tire that sits on the hatch of a SUV. Put it over your spare...and sit in on the floor of the back seat....stick it there for daily driving...and if you show..pull it out..

Thats what I plan to do
