dvd/nav/console/subs/amps modifications
Guys dont know if any one has done this yet, but I just got installed a pioneer dvd in dash w/ screen into my G. Of course with some modifications here and there. Also got the nav to be functionable while driving. Check it out. The guys at a local dealer did an awesome job.

Re: dvd/nav/console/subs/amps modifications
thanks, it actually didnt cost me too too much bc i had all of the equipment in my old car. only thing i really paid for was the install for the dynamat, pioneer brain and dvd/screen, amp, game plate, nav switcher, the customized console, and the customized box for my speakers. everyhting came to be like 6-700 dollars. ill tell you what though it was much cheaper than going through the nav, because the nav converter itself is 500 + dvd player + install and the quailty of this screen is awesome compared to that of the nav.

yes i do. they tapped into the speed sensor wire and basically put a switch onto it. they way it works is the nav is only functionable when the car is not moving so with the switch in the on position tells the brain of the car that the car is stationary yet physically on the move. you put in your information turn the switch off and the nav functions again normally. however it takes a few seconds for the brain of the car to realize where it is and after that it is back to normal. i love it.

Re: dvd/nav/console/subs/amps modifications
that actually doesnt cost much at all. no i dont know a shop in s. cal, i live in miami, FL. you want to go to a place that knows what they are talking about so they dont screw the wires up and charge u alot bc the only time consuming part is taking the thing apart. it actually only takes like 20 minutes to do, if the guy knows which wire it is. i advice you to get a hold of maybe the wire diagram for the nav. i dont have one bc the place that did mine knew exactly which wire was the speed sensor. hpe this helps.

do you know if the installer just cut the shifter plate to the DIN size or did they make a new one to hold the stereo? Also do you happen to know where the installer attatched the stereo cage to?
