gonna buy sat radio unit- need your opinions

I plan on signing up for Sirius real soon. My dilemma is I'm not sure whether to buy the OEM unit or just settle for a plug-and-play receiver. I know the sound quality is superior with the Nissan unit, but here are my issues:

1. I have a non-bose stock system
2. Not pre-wired (I did purchase the harness already though last year)
3. I don't plan to do any major audio upgrades in the future
4. I hate the crappy HU screen on the 03's (for displaying text)

Is the difference between the 2 night and day? Or is my system so crummy its not worth the extra $ to pay for install and the more expensive OEM unit?

All opinions welcome. Thanks.

If you have to prewire the car anyway you have the option of hard wiring an aftermarket unit. If you hardwire it the quality is the same possibly even better with some units. The only challenge then is where to mount the display.

My car was pre-wired, and I installed an oem. The quality is fine, but its not cd-quality. I'm happy with it. The text display is basic, but I programmed the channels I listen to and I don't find myself wanting more info unless someone is in the car with me who likes to try to play "name that song." The stock look is nice.

Thanks for your opinion. I ended up going with an aftermarket unit. Gonna try and hardwire it with the Pac...after I work up the nerve to rip my dash apart
