12 volt power supplies?

12 volt power supplies?

hey guys..i wanted to test some 12 volt car audio equipment in the house b4 i install it in the car..i know radio shack and pyramid make power supplies...they all are 13.8volt DC out..but some are 2.5amp and 3 and 6 and so on...what amperage should i be getting on my power supply..

anyone on this board have one?what specs should i get?

What you should do if you are going to power any amps is get a 30A or more power supply AND a full-size car battery.

Astron and Cascade are the two brands that come to mind. Not cheap.

If you're just doing HUs, then get a 10 or 15A PS and a small 12V battery.
