Getting a aftermarket bluetooth carkit + ipod connect tomorrow.

Well for all of those G-drivers out their that love the technology stuff, and missed out on the bluetooth available on the 06 coupe, there are other really good options.

I finally found a place that actually keeps a few bluetooth systems in stock and he does install work for the dealerships in the area (Santa Monica, CA). He said the Parrot 3100 is the WAY to go! I have the Treo 650 from sprint and Really look forward to using it. It's going to be like 350 installed (dealer was charging 800$). When he was showing me where he's going to run the wires and where the best place to put the lcd screen is, he asked "Hey you want a direct ipod connection while I'm at it?" Hell yea, so it turns out he stocks PAC units for G35 at his shop and he's going to do it all for me in a few hours.

I'll take some pics of the bluetooth kit installed and let everyone know how it is.

For those of you that are familiar with the Parrot systems their seems to be some confusion on weather or not you can use the auto mute function with the Bose System, (basically when you get a call your music mutes for you and then when your done talking it comes back on). Well, acording to him it is possible and some people have done it on g35driver.com, but he actually recomends using an external speaker in the passenger side hidden, and it sound really good and you don't have to cut or splice any wires that might void your warrenty.

I'd like to have it through the stock speakers, but he's done it on quite a few G's, and he has pics to prove it. I'll get more details tommorow on exactly how he's going to do it.

In terms of the Ipod, I'm having him run the connector to the center console so I can hide my ipod in their. If anyone has done an install in their G with a bluetooth system, please post what system it is and it its using the auto mute fuction. Thanks

where are you getting this installed. the reason why i ask is because i bought the parrot system myself but have yet to find a reputable place with experience on our G's to install it. I am pretty close to where you are at so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well guys/gals here are some pics. I got the stuff from Santa Monica car sound ( ariyaenterprises.com ). I was so stoked when they had the parrot 3100 in stock (they also had the Raytell, motorola..etc bluetooth systems) but he said this was by far the best and actually not as expensive as some. I have a Treo 650 and I sent all my contacts to the system and the voice command on the system rules!! ITS SO EASY, CLEAR...etc! And I think looks pretty sweet too

Some of you have seen that installers cut a few wires and do some relay stuff to make the auto mute work, but he said for warrenty don't screw with it. I really wanted it at first, but now that I have the systme their is NO need. Just hit the pwr contol on the steering wheel control when you get a call. The speaker he mounted in the passenger kick panel is LOUD for how small it is. Any body questioning the loudnest of the speaker, DONT WORRY its GREAT!

Here is the ipod install he did with the PAC unit that he had in stock. It goes into the center console and I'm going to get the belkin auto charger with 3.5 mm jack with preamp then connect the moster cable into that and locate my ipod in the cupholder.

And some more Bluetooth pics. Sorry for the poor quality pics the lighting was bad and focus just was not that great.

The microphone is located on the rearview mirror I'll take a pic of what it looks like if you guys/gals want.

i got the parrot too. I think its better than the OEM bluetooth in o6 models and the sound quality is great. Only thing I dont like is that motorola disabled OBEX on the verizon version of the v710

Your compass says your facing South East, but your navi shows you pointed south west lol! Sorry, had to observe that! But awsome install nonetheless.

Can you dim the display of the Parrot? Is it bright all the time, or just when in a call?

How long did the install take?

Thanks.

After seeing how the BT was integrated i the 06 models... I'm glad I don't have it. Aftermarket (Parrot/Raytell) are the way to go.

Just wish there was a better way to integrate the display, not that yours is bad.
