also anyone here put an aftermarket alarm on their cars?if so how do you like it?

 

Go to the FAQ section and check the shock sensor mod. It works with the factory alarm, is easy to install, and will cost you less than $50.

Look, factory alarms are not like aftermarket alarms.

They don't have aux inputs or outputs, and they aren't made by audiovox or directed (the dealer-installed alarms are, but the onboard-from-day-one alarms are not).

It's a set of functions build into the body computer. If I recall correctly the shock sensor mod uses the hood pin input wire.

 

yeah. i love my shock sensor mod.

 

Factory alarms are-for the most part- nothing more than a keyless entry with a horn honk if a point of entry is violated with of course limited range that unfortunately deteriorates over time. Aftermarket alarms provide quite a bit more, so to compare the two is unfair.

Ive installed tons of aftermarket alarms and appreciated doing so everytime.
