Yes, but if you are going to take the dash apart to modify the lockout then you might as well install the thing yourself. Most of the work is in taking apart the dash. With the right wire kit and adaptors the rest of the install is easy. Then again I guess any head unit install is easy when you've install a few before. I don't have a DVD player so I don't know about DVD playback, but I would image it would work. On the D1 you just need to add a wire and ground it along with the p-brake. the PCB level mod is just for the N2. I've always had it with the mod so I don't know how it is with out it.

Yeah makes sense. Did you have the VSS hooked up? I have read that you have to disconnect it? Along with the rest of the stuff?
