Is there a fix to the BOSE HU issue?

I believe my HU is suffering from the bass / treble reset issue. My car (05 sedan 6MT) is a week old and I do not want the dealer to start "ripping" it apart to replace the HU if theres a good chance this won't fix the issue. Has any had this issues fixed or does this plague every one of the clarion HU's.

Thanks

I don't know if this helps or not, but the Bose HU that came in my 06 G35x does NOT have any problems with the bass/treble resetting.

My '05 does and it drives me nuts. Is there even a workaround?

The problem happens only when the levels are set to +5. The workaround would be not setting them to +5. I keep mine on +4. I think the 06 model still has this problem.

I keep my bass set at -4 or -3. Whenever I restart the car the bass is too high. When I check, it is still set at -4 if I turn it up to -3 or down to -5 the bass drops and will stay that way until I turn the car off again.

I promised myself I would leave the OE stuff in until at least this summer. The bose sound quality (while definately lacking) doesn't bother me as much as not having the ipod controls through the deck, and the bass resetting too high every time I restart the car.

In my last car I had an Alpine CDA-9835 w/ ipod controls. Focal components front and rear with 2 Mmats lm2150 amps driving them. I had a single 10 in a box with an Alpine MRD-M501. And the entire car was dynamated and sounded great.

I kept the Mmats amps and left everything else in the car. I was very happy with the entire setup and would like to do it all again in this car, but not until I have some money set aside for it. Until then I guess I will just have to live with the bass resetting and no ipod.

Don't waste your time having your HU replaced by the dealer. I had mine replaced in my '05, hoping to resolve this issue, and it's still happening even with the brand new HU.

I second that. I just had mine replaced and the new one is just as bad. Funny thing is the loaner I had also had the problem. Infiniti, can't you just feel the love.

I've seen this on 06's as well (do a search). They haven't fixed this problem in the 06's. From what I can see, it's a hit/miss on who's got this problem. I do Anywho, when I set my treble at +3, I have to set it up/down and it will be fine. The bass is set at zero (fine for my taste). Now, when I set my treble to +4, it is fine. I just live with it since this HU BLOSE anyways. BTW, it isn't a Bose HU, it is a Clarion.

Although the HU may actually contain the issue, it really isn't that bad. What sucks are the crappy bose paper speakers. I replaced mine w/ Kappas and instantly I noticed more "life & detail" to the music. In addition, I then noticed how substandard the bose sub is. Get rid of the speakers and the HU isn't that bad...

Unhappy

My 05 has the same issue. It's a Bose system and has the problem even after replacement. It seems there must be a firmware issue in the Clarion design. BTW: I've noticed people saying it only happens at +5. Mine is noticeable at +2 and aggravating at +3 to +5. Setting at less than +5 does no good to mine.

The Infiniti service writer said his tech did some research and could find no reports of this issue. Apparently they don't search this forum as I've seen many threads regarding this problem.
