Question about PAC AAI-NIS

I just got an aftermarket sirius kit installed and I am not happy with the FM modulation. My audio shop, which is usually very good told me that because I have navigation they cannot hook up an Aux input. Is this true?

Also, I do not have a SAT button on my radio. The 4 buttons at the top are CD, Radio, PTY/CAT, and Display. Can I use this adapter on my 05 G35X with navigation?

Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance

Your audio shop is wrong. The navagation option has nothing to do with the PAC AAI-NIS. I have an 03 with NAV and I hooked up the AAI-NIS and it works fine. As long as your head unit is SAT ready you are fine.

I think on the 05+ models you use the Radio button to access the SAT 1 and SAT 2 channels. So you are probably fine.

However you will likely find it hard to get a PAC AAI-NIS right now. I hear they are pretty much out of stock everywhere. The rumor is that PAC is releasing a new product that retains the ability to use Sat Radio while still giving you aux inputs. Rumor has it the new unit will be out in a month or so.

Does that unit let you control your iPod through the HU?

periferal electronics should have there's out shortly, too.

It'll allow you to retain the satellite radio, too.

It was 2 aux inputs plus remote turn-on leads to turn on asccessory electronics

My buddy works for PAC and is the one developing the NIS2. They've almost got it done. He might come to my place this weekend and test it out on my '06. If everything goes o.k., you should see them in stores in about a month. The second generation will allow you to have an aux. input and still use the satellite radio.

Tested the PAC AAI-NIS2 today on my '06 with Bose and XM. Worked like a charm. It will allow two auxiliary inputs that are channeled through two of your satellite radio presets. Might be one last tweak if they add a second remote wire. That's not for sure though. Units should be shipping to dealers/distributors very soon. No direct iPod control from head unit.

Was PAC connected to HU or to XM receiver pass-through port?

It's a T-connection in two of the harnesses at the rear of the OEM head unit. There are a total of four harnesses for the AAI-NIS2.
