Hey guys,

I'm looking to setup a nice trunk audio system, I've done some research but could use a little help.

I've decided to get the JL Audio 10W6, should I go with 1 or 2? I mostly listen to rap and rock.

Which amp from JL would be the best for 1 or 2?

Also where can I see pics of these 4080 boxes I hear so much raving about?

depending on trunk space preference, 1 10w6v2 is more than enough bass for a daily listener but if you wanna have the extra power then go with 2



a jl 500/1 amp is good for 1 sub, a 1000/1 is good for 2

Ok, read my sig for my setup, and also click on the link in my sig for some pics. Mostly it's about my carPC setup, but there are some pics of the 4080 box. I would say 1 10w6v2 is more than enough; I've got a JL Audio 500/1 powering a single 10w6v2, and have it turned down quite a bit because it is very loud.

Oh, it also depends if you want to keep the spare tire or not. I got rid of it, but many advocate keeping it. If you keep it, the best place for the amps is probably on the rear of the back seats.

Hey 4080, i jus wanted to say that ur box is FIRE..... the jl 10w6v2 sounds amazing in it and the box is really sleek.... one question... how where did u hide the metal tab?

 

You put the metal tab underneath the black rubber weatherstrip liner. I also screwed the tab to the side of the trunk, a metal piece there. It helps with the stability of it, although even if you don't do that, it fits very snugly in it's spot and doesn't move much, if at all.

where can this box be purchased? any chance it can be cut to fit the JL 13W1?

 

I have a brand new 4080 box, 10w6v2, and 500/1 that I was going to put in my coupe and opted to go with a larger sub in a custom box. Shoot me a PM if youre interested. Its a great setup for the coupe, youd be very happy with it.
