Thanks. It's good and bad news - it's out, but would take until end of Feb for new customers to be able to get it due to their huge backlog!

It took me a little over 1 hour to pull it apart and put it back together again in my 03 5AT coupe . That includes me taking my time on each step of the DIY I followed.

Question

I had a look at the AAI-NIS2 documentation which left me a little puzzled as to whether it would be possible to use the SWI-X on the G35.

I haven't received my 2006 G35 6MT yet (planning to buy one towards the end of next month), but want to make sure the SWI-X is still a viable hardware choice before taking the plunge.

For those of you who have a SWI-X installed in your G with an AAI-NIS or AAI-NIS2. Can you share any info about steering wheel controls? Namely, what works and what doesn't.

There is a special output wire to make it easier to connect the SWIX to the NIS1. Not sure about the NIS2.

The SWIX only functions in SAT mode with the NIS1 (not all the time). In addition volume and mode buttons do NOT cause IR signals to be generated.

I looked at the instructions for the NIS2 and my question is this:

If you have a satellite receiver hooked up into the wiring harness, can you still use the factory steering wheel switch to switch between satellite and AUX, or do you have to get the SWI-X?

Thanks rcdash. Does the volume control still adjust the HU volume in SAT mode? or does it simply do nothing?
