hooked up my 250/1 & 10w3v2 sub, but I need some more of those members' expertise...
sounds awesome, but!
1. when the car is on, the amp is on, even when the stereo is turned off. i have the remote wire hooked up to the light blue (with silver dots) wire on the bose amp... is there a way to change it so that my amp only turns on when the stereo is turned on?
2. there's a small "whine". obviously it's coming from the amp, since i can hear it when the stereo is turned off. could this be a wiring issue? how do i get rid of this noise? it's very small, and i can only hear it when i'm not listening to anything.
3. what's the best setting for Amp LP Setting, and Bass Control on the 250/1, running one 10w3v2?
i didn't go with a LOC, just tapped into the speaker inputs on the BOSE amp (purple/teal, and blue/pink wires). those are the correct wires to tap into, right?

I am considering the same setup. Do you feel that the bass overpowers the stock system too much? Also where did you run your power and ground wires to? Were you able to use the stock bose amps power and ground wires as well?
ran the power wire from the battery through the passenger side, all the way down to the back seats into the trunk. i hooked up the ground wire to the bolt on the far end of the trunk (closest to back seats), there's a bolt that holds some sort of a yellow module (don't know what it is). both wires are 4ga. btw.
i DO feel that the bass is overpowering the stock system, but that's the sacrifice i had to make in order to keep the BOSE HU. i guess i can always control the amp gain so...i'll just have to live with that. still a good setup imo.

blue, pink
white, orange
orange/blue, white/blue
are the 8 output wires from the HU going into the stock amp.

yeah, looking into replacing my stock speakers with infinity kappa's, but also trying to stay within a budget...
right now all my wires are all over the place...so i should be able to get rid of that whine after i re-route all the wires, right?

The whine could be that, or it could be a ground loop. As Amthar said, make sure everything is grounded to one location, and it is a solid ground. Of course, in your case, "everything" is one amp, but still, ensure it is a solid ground.

i would say adding a sub and an amp is definitely a big upgrade from just the Bose system, but still, nothing beats a full system with aftermarket h/u, components, subs, and amps. my car is a lease, and i want to keep things clean with just a few upgrades.

I still get the "whine" with the gain all the way down, and also with the RCA's pulled out. definitely ground wire issue then? haven't had time to relocate the ground wire...

in some cases, and i have seen this quite a few times and its kinda strange, is that sometimes when you tap into stock systems and wires, it causes engine noise to be transmitted from the STOCK mid/high spekares, and sometimes they will even makle the while wtih the stereo OFF...
so you are sure the whine is coming form the sub?? thats hard to believe because most of alternator whines are in the midrange freq., and the low pass filter on the amp should have cut out most of not all of it before it reached the sub
