Metal film tint/NAV

Getting my new G tinted this week. I've heard some rumor of the metal film interfering with the Nav system. Any truth to that? The tint guy quoted me higher price for non-metallic film.

Need good idea for what % tint to use. I don't know tint very well so the percentages are only a rough idea at best. I'd like the rear 3 to be dark but still be able to see out of the back window at night through rearview mirror. Then I would like the front side windows a little bit lighter but not so that there is an obvious difference. I know most of the folks here have tint so please tell me what you did and how it turned out. Thank you!

Shouldn't be a problem. The nav antenna is in the dash behind the analog clock. As for AM radio reception though, you might get some degradation in reception. I've heard it go both ways though. Some people don't notice a problem and some do with the radio reception. If you don't listen to AM, don't worry about it. Nothing lost.

Remember, being in CA means you have extremely strict tint laws. Make sure you either 1.) Accept the fact you could be pulled, fined and not pass inspection if the tint is too dark or 2.) figure it will never happen to you (this is quite frequently the case)

$100 extra for the non-metallic tint. Another place gave me the same price for either.

I'm tinting all the way around. To me having the tint is worth the risk of getting a ticket.

Thinking 20% sides and back

going with the non-metallic tint , 10% .

Thanks for the input!

Edit: Ended up with 20%, still looks great. I paid 200 for non-metallic tint, front/rear sides and back. If in the San Diego area and want to know who did mine he's a mobile guy, pm me.
