I couldn't find much on this specific question about the new 06 Nav. Is there anyway to get the new GUI from the 06's to go on the 04's? I know that they make updated nav discs (6.3, 6.4 etc.) but those do not have the updated graphics, just POI and road updates. So I guess my real question is, is there any way (hardware or software) to update to the new GUI that come in the 06 Gs and Zs? Thanks in advance.
Oh and by the way I LOVE my new (to me) 04 DG G35C 6MT !!!

 

No. The 06's use version 7.x and the 03-05's use 6.x software. The two aren't compatible. I'm not sure about swapping hardware though. I would think that anything is possible, but at what cost?

 

There's some text on the Zenrin website about upgrading hardware to use newer versions. They didn't go into much detail though so you'd have to call them. I would assume, though, that that means that you'd need to get the newer drive, and that probably wouldn't be cost effective.
