CD/MP3 Player Starting to Skip

I've noticed my CD player skipping after about 40 minutes of play. It's only happened a couple times now. Playing the MP3 CD the next day shows no problems.

Is this a preview of a total CD player replacement (of which I've read several replacements on this site) or does a simple cleaning disk/operation need to take place?

Maybe a service bulletin existing? Anybody else out there with this problem?

Thanks,

Xllented

Xllented,

Unfortunately what you are experiencing are in fact the early symptoms of a total CD functionality failure. I experienced the same problem in early November 2005.I purchased my brand new 2005 Obsidian Black sedan 5AT with the sports and premium packages in May 2005 for my 29th birthday. I had to wait two weeks for the replacement Bose head unit to arrive from California; I live in Toronto, Canada. I have not had any problems with my head unit since; I use the black Memorex 700 CD-R for my MP3 mixes. The installation takes about 45 minutes and the malfunctioning head unit will be sent to the Bose factory in California for analysis and CD extraction. Infiniti will notify you in a month’s time of your CD arrival.

Ciao
