Aftermarket Nav System

I have been searching for a 2005 G35 Sedan w Nav at auctions. I work in billboard advertisment so a Nav system is critical. It's been impossible to find. A model that I love is coming in line on Tuesday. I was against getting a car w/o the factory Nav. Does anyone have any experiences with 3rd party system and installs? If you have pics, please post. I don't want Tom Tom or anything on my windshield.

Thanks so much for your help, CL

Check out all the double din sticky messages at the top of this forum. Many of us swapped out our OEM dash pieces with double din dash pieces from Nissan. It keeps the car factory looking and provides room for many third party Nav head units.

Here's a picture of my '05 with an Eclipse Nav system.

anyone have a preference for the DD vs the D for the in-dash nav system. it seems there are more D options and i could put a pocket or something below it.

was there a trim piece on that eclipse? I'm going about to order and put it in myself and was wondering what all I needed.

You need the double DIN trim piece and the jdm a/c control unit; both available from Grubbs Infiniti for about 300 shipped.

I have all that... I was asking about around the Eclipse unit to make it look more flush with the trim. I think I heard people saying that there were gaps with other headunits and seeing if this one was the same.
