I regret spending money on setup, some feedback please
i appreciate everyone's replies and input.
i will definitely look for the 0% so i can transfer and help pay it off.
i guess my question was answered, i cant return it for a refund.
im ok with that.
badcommand, your idea sounds pretty good, ill just have to wait and get a real job, pay everything off, and upgrade the HU and speakers so i can get better sound quality, with cash of course.
goodbyeevo8, the reason why i waited 8 months is either they would take it, or they wouldnt, and i had a year to figure it out.
el_duderino, the payments on the G (525) is going pretty well, i have 1.5 years until i pay it off. credit card debt is a different issue for me.
and i dont see anything wrong with a 17-18 year old driving around a car like the G, of course it's expensive, but i had some help.
an altima or sentra would make sense if i was completely on my own, but im not.
im going to try to look around, see how much i can get for it. piece by piece, or maybe as a whole.. if i get a decent price.. ill sell, if not.. ill hold on to it, and do the best i can to get out of debt.
everyone is right, very valuable lesson for me..
this helped out a lot

Quite honestly, an 18 year old should not be driving around a $35k, 300hp rwd car. This is not out of jealousy (although I was in Kuwait with the USMC when I was 18), it is out of experience.

Basheer, I applaud you for realizing you created a problem and having the ***** to come on here and admit it to everyone at the risk of getting flamed. The fact that you are seeking help means you are already taking a step in the right direction. CC debt is something that can get out of hand very quickly. Believe me I saw it happen to someone very close to me. It almost wrecked him in the end. Get control of your debt RIGHT NOW. Don't try to live outside of your means. Good luck bro.

First and foremost you kept the stock system- which the reality of worth of ALL the components (Bose or not, since there isn't a hell of a lot of difference in quality) is that the stock system is worth around $200-$300 of electronics- literally everything about it is complete junk (HU, amp, speakers & wiring). If you want a decent system (and it really sounds like you do) all that will eventually need to be replaced and when you do and start feeding the JL's a decent preamp signal with a quality HU and mate the mids and highs with a quality HU, amp & wiring- YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!
The second issue that I hear you saying is that you don't like what you bought due to rattles. This is where Dynamat (and I would really recommend Dynamat) comes in- it will get rid of all those rattles and really bring out the best sound quality of your investment. Dynamat isn't cheap- but you get what you pay for with sound dampening material and it is the best I have tried. Here is a link to a great price for it (so as not to set you back even further!
) Do your trunk first, then when you get around to replacing those cheesy stock speakers in the front doors- you can do your doors at that point. You'll notice the vendor offers free shipping on orders over $99- so buy 2 which will be more than enough for a thorough trunk job (with a little left over for your doors).

I'm sorry. I normally don't call people out like this, but This is the most f'd up piece of advice ever given to someone. Did you not read that he is having problems making minimum payments on his credit cards? Yeah. He has some good equipment and it's a shame that he has to part from it, but if he can't afford it then he CAN'T AFFORD IT! How can you tell him not to worry about being in debt? What if he want's to go and buy a house later on in life? What if he want's to buy a new car by himself later on? What if he wants to land that sweet job after he finishes school? What if he wants to start up his own business and needs to take a loan out to start it up? This one credit mistake won't break him for the rest of his life, but if he takes your mentality, then it just might. If you don't have anything helpful to say, then don't say it. OMG! I can't believe the ignorance of some people.
ok relax there Meryl Lynch. Dude everyone has their own opinions. Though some are better than others, EVERYONE feels different and has their own ideas. No one is right and No one is wrong. Basheer, I think youve gotten a lot of different opinions bro. Do what you think is right.

Hey. I'm just trying to help the kid out. I've been through finanacial trouble before and it's not fun. NOT FUN AT ALL! I've learned my lesson and I'm just hoping he won't make the same mistake as I did in the past.
It's his life and he can do whatever he wants. I won't say that my advice is right or wrong because it's not. But I sure as hell will say that my advice to get out of CC debt is waaaay better than someone suggesting to stay in debt, let alone get into some more debt by improving on his system. Like he said, he can barely make minimum payments as is.
If you're going to take that kind of mentality, then you might as well say he should go get every girl that he hooks up with pregnant and then just dump them leaving her to fend for his kid by herself. He can do it if he wants, but it's not a good thing to do.

but when i read his post, i took it in a different way
he's saying i have the right equipment, and it is not worth selling half the price. so i should pay it off now, get out of debt, and when i find some cash.. it's worth upgrading it in the long run.
Yeah definately pay it all off before you go and decide to buy anything else... Kinda why I keep my car stock... I can afford to buy mods but I have more important purchases looming in the near future, I am about to buy land to build a house on (because in my area a 1500 sqft house w/ literally 2000 sqft of land is $315K....) I can buy a nice 1-3 Acre lot for ~$150-230K and build a nice 3000sqft house w/ all top notch parts for another $200K which would come out to a much better deal and leave about $300K worth of Equity! ANyways I think its a good lesson for you! Hopefully you have learned it! DON'T LIVE ABOVE YOUR MEANS! DON'T BUY UN-NEEDED STUFF (ESPECIALLY WHEN YO CAN'T AFFORD IT) And try to fucus on spending money on APPRECIATING things not DEPRECIATING... like an education, a condo, a house etc... ANyways GOOD LUCK!

Seriously though, he's is 100% correct. Don't buy a single thing for your car, and focus on getting rid of that debt!
We all make mistakes, but you're on the right path and I can't stress enough how important it is that you don't continue to build up debt that you cannot pay off.
I applaud you for your efforts so far, and wish you the best of luck.
