Here's fuel to the fire....

Basheer, who's paying for your car insurance? Hypothetically, should that factor into whether someone, no matter what age, should be driving a more expensive car or not?

We've had this "what's wrong with my parents paying for my G" threads in the past which just hurts people's feelings. Let's try to keep it positive and respect that everyone has their personal opinions (not matter how absurd it may sound...lol )

Somewhat related to the original post.. I bought a Dell computer for work that was about $1200 total (not a bad deal for all that it had) and I planned to make the payments over 6-8 months... shortly after I got the statement in the mail and they were charging me $50/month in finance charges.. point of the story: if you can't buy it with cash, don't buy it at all.

That's a horrible philosophy from an investment standpoint.

HAHAHAHA...I knew someone going to say that but paying 5% interest rate for a car is one thing and paying 22% for stereo/comp/shoes is other.

good ideas here:

#1. loan out 3500 from your MOM and DAD. tell them the situation and pay them back pronto.
#2. dont get in over your head.
