X Band... On or Off?

So I've been debating on turning x band off on my X50. In my area, I have never had an x band that was even a potential cop. It's always around retail stores that my x band goes off. K band and Ka band are likely cops though.

Any experience with turning x band off? Does anyone recommend or not recommend this?

I turned my X band off nearly a year ago and have had zero issues. If I could, I would even turn off K band! In my area, Ka and Laser are the only ones I've encountered. The K band seems to be reserved for those stationary unmanned radar/speed displays.

With that said, when I drive into counties I'm unfamiliar with, I turn the X back on.

I'd much rather hear it, and decide it's false and get pulled, then not hear it and get pulled. Then again I don't mind the beeping, otherwise I wouldn't have bought a radar detector.

and I know I'd forget to turn it on that one time I went into a different county or state and got pulled by some jack-o-clese.

I leave it on, but set it to city-mode so x-band is not that so sensitive.

I leave mine on, but its so irritating it seems like 99% are false alarms...but I leave it on just in case of that one time it may save me. You never know.

Turned it off the day I got it, TX doesnt use X band anymore as far as I know, doubt your state does either. Anyways it only off in the city mode, when out on the interstate I put it on highway with the X band on.
