New HU, what else?

Ok so I've been doing my research, but I'm still a little confused.

Alpine has their double-din hu coming out in the next few months. I've loved alpine products, and therefore thats what I'm going with. Im only looking for better sound, and more features (MP3, XM, nav), not something that will rattle my lugnuts loose from base. The ONLY reason im going to drop that sort of cash into a HU is becasue of looks. I couldnt kill the interior / dash of my G by installing a SingleD and having a pocket, or any sort of protruding display face. The Alpine DD HU is mostly screen with rather flush controls.

From what I've come to understand, the problem with the Bose system is the System. Everything together is just killing the sound.

Im trying to do the least-intrusive install as possible. What is the bare-minimum, or is that not even worth it?

Will I be able to get a infiniti-to-alpine harness adapter to connect the stock radio harness to the Alpine HU? But that will send audio into the Bose Amp. Is that BAD? Not Desireable? OK? Not possible? Am I going to have to wire the speakers "from scratch"? Are the speakers in there not capable of producing good sound (GOOD, not deafening) and therefore need to yank everything like it's diseased?

seems like everyone always is

that's more or less accurate. The speakers suck hardcore and the only reason it's acceptable to some people is because of the EQing games that the Bose amp plays with these paper pieces of crap.

I don't know what you consider intrusive. I personally consider the double din conversion to be overly intrusive, but that's because I'm a fan of keeping the stock look. I personally think swapping in an aftermarket amp in place of the Bose amp, swapping the front woofers+tweeters and keeping the stock HU is least intrusive, but that's just me.

Yes, it's made by Scoshe (http://www.cardomain.com/item/SCOFAI3). It's not alpine specific.

In my opinion, yes. It's like putting a ferrari body around a Ford Festiva engine. Nice aftermarket alpine unit playing through the stock Bose amp which heavily EQs the signal and plays it out some crappy paper speakers.

Correct.

Correct.
